On 12th of May, the University of Georgia is celebrating the International Nurse Day. UG students of Health Sciences and Public health are planning to carry out arterial blood pressure screening. Our nursing students will measure blood pressure of the willing, oxygen saturation and determine body mass index. Also, if necessary, they will give appropriate advice and hand out information booklets.

Place: The University of Georgia, I building (3rd floor) IV building (1st floor)
Time: 1pm – 3pm
On 12th of May, UG also will host a public lecture on “Global Health Policy and Human Resources: Role of Nurses in Public Health”.
Guest speaker will be the Director of the SOCO Foundation, former first lady of Georgia – Sandra Roelofs.
The following issues will be disguised:
• Florence Nightingale, who she was and what she achieved, International Nursing Day May 12;
• The importance of the profession of nurse in specialized, primary and community-based healthcare;
• Nurses in Eastern Europe and Central Asian countries: role, status, education, migration, healthcare privatization;
• Today's main challenges for nursing in Georgia.
Lecture will be conducted in English language.
